Tragedy strikes during production of The Dark Knight Rises. Warner Brothers confirmed that an unidentified male extra passed away from natural causes on the set of the new Batman film.
"The studio can confirm that a male extra passed away while on a break during an off-set crowd rehearsal for a sequence with several hundred extras in early November. The production crew fully cooperated with the authorities' investigation, which established that he died of natural causes," a studio representative said.
Sources reveal that the man's unconscious body was found after he had walked away from the other extras; a medical crew was called immediately. "He was taken to the hospital straight away... It was during a period when the film was shooting a huge sequence with several hundred extras in the Wall Street area," a source said.

Gary Oldman Excited to Play an Englishman

Gary Oldman signed up for Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy so he could be an Englishman.
The British actor - best known for his eccentric roles including Sirius Black in the Harry Potter series and Commissioner Gordon in the latest Batman films - was delighted to leave his Hollywood home to head for the UK to work on the project because he felt like it was "proper."
"It is always a lot of fun coming back to England and doing things like Harry Potter and Batman, but really they are fantasy worlds, so it is nice to come and do something like Tinker Tailor, something proper. Actually, it was also nice to come back and play an Englishman."
He also admits another reason he was glad to play the role of spy George Smiley in the film was because of the all-star cast: "I was just very flattered to be asked to play George Smiley at all. I mean, really, just to be involved in a film like this would've been fantastic. You've got John Hurt, Colin Firth, Kathy Burke, all these terrific actors, and it's just a delicious part."
Steven Spielberg Driven by Fear

Steven Spielberg is "driven" by fear. The director admits he likes to take on projects which intimidate him, and he admits he is always nervous when he is on the set of a new movie.
"Fear is what drives me. Every movie is scary for me and every day I shoot the movie is scary. And I need fear because it drives me to explore things. It keeps me looking for a new variation on constant themes."
He admits, however, he did not struggle with working with horses on his new movie War Horse - about a boy whose beloved pet is sold by his father to work in the trenches of World War I - because he has always been around them thanks to his children.
"I'd never made a movie where a horse was the star. Or, indeed, any animal was the star. My daughter, who's 14, is a competitive jumper. And my wife just started doing dressage. So I've been living with horses for the past eight years, and they've been part of my life for the past 16 to 17 years. Based on directing a movie with horses, I now feel very strongly that they're the most intelligent animals I've ever come across."

Speaking at the UK premiere of new movie Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows at the Empire Leicester Square, Robert told BANG Showbiz, "Iron Man 3? It's the best script I've read in five years. It's going to be a phenomenal theatre-going experience."

Ben would play a former war hero who is presumed to be long-dead in the movie, which is being produced by Star Trek scribes Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Gavin Hood is directing the project, which is set to go into production in February 2012, although no release date is yet planned.

Benicio Del Toro has pulled out of negotiations to appear in Star Trek 2.
The Wolfman actor was in talks to play the lead bad guy in the forthcoming J.J. Abrams-directed sequel - starring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and Zoe Saldana - but "monetary issues" have ended chances of him starring. Although no details of who the character is have so far been leaked, NYPost.com's Vulture blog claims he was set to play Khan Noonien-Singh in the much-hyped project.
The character - a genetically engineered super-human - originally appeared in the original Star Trek TV series and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, and was played by Ricardo Montalban. No actors have been named as possible successors to Benicio, but with the film due to begin shooting in January a replacement will have to be found shortly.
The sequel is set to be shot in 3-D by director J.J., while Alice Eve - best known for the role of the Irish nanny in Sex and the City 2 - is signed up to star.
Michael Bay to Direct Transformers 4?

Michael Bay is set to return to the Transformers franchise. Despite the director previously claiming he would not be in the frame to direct the rebooted series, the success of the third film Transformers: Dark of the Moon - which took over $1 billion at the international box office - has persuaded him to think again.
According to NYMag.com's Vulture blog, Michael could begin shooting on the project, which will not be a prequel to the original three films starring Shia LaBeouf, in late 2012 following his work on revenge thriller Pain and Gain.
Although details are not known about the story, it is thought it will focus more on the canon of the series and delve into old characters. A source told the blog, "Regular people might not care about bringing out a character like Sentinel Prime. But believe me, fans of the series cared."
Jason Statham is reportedly being considered for the lead role in the fourth film, with active discussions taking part between him and studio Paramount.
Bradley Cooper: ‘Hangover III to Shoot Next Year’

Bradley Cooper has confirmed The Hangover III will shoot next autumn in Los Angeles. The actor - who played the part of Phil in the first two instalments of the Todd Phillips-directed comedy - admitted he is keen to get to work on the third in the franchise, and doesn't think it will follow the same path as the previous films.
"I personally want to do it. I hope we're going to start shooting in September. We adhered to the formula in the second one, for those of you who've seen it, and the third one, which would close the whole, sort of, trilogy, which now it would be a trilogy - even though we thought we would never make a second one, let alone anybody see the first one. I think it will take place in Los Angeles and maybe not adhere to the structure. It might be different."
Bradley - who stars alongside comedy star Zach Galifianakis in the movies - previously claimed he was very keen to appear in a third installment despite the second being one of the hardest projects he has worked on. "I'll do whatever Todd wants to do, he's the best, he's the greatest. And I love those guys and I love my character Phil so I would do it in a heartbeat. It was the hardest shoot I've ever done but I just love it. There's got to be a trilogy, you've got to close it up."
